To reach all of our Georgia community

Supporting Augusta

  • Our Class of 2021 organized a GoFundMe for raising money in order to purchase PPE and make care packages for healthcare workers. Please see the call-to-action letter below.

Care Packages

Here are some pictures of the creation of the first round of care packages! Pay special attention to Zola Francis who took the time to draw pictures on each of the individual care package bags, as well as the thank you notes Valerie McLure and Katrina Hazim spent eight hours making. Over 1000 care packages were delivered over the last couple of days.

We are also now partnering with local Augusta restaurants to support their business and keep our frontline staff fed as they work.

So far 100 meals, 50 pastries from New Moon Cafe, 20 bags of coffee, catered lunch from Laziza, and mutible boxes of truffles from
La Bonbonniere have been delivered to health care workers.

You can keep track of our deliveries on social media here.
Fundraiser nights

We are also funding our care packages and raising funds for PPE while partnering with CSRA businesses through fundraising nights. You just have to pick a date, we'll advertise and we can help spark business while 10-15% of proceeds go toward supporting CSRA healthcare workers!

Flip through the slides to the right to read more about our fundraiser nights. So far we have been able to raise $600 from this endeavor!

Please contact us if you and your business would be interested in partnering with Supporting Augusta Healthcare
Business Partnerships

Supporting Augusta Healthcare is partnering with our local community to support our CSRA community.

We know that many small businesses have been hit hard by this pandemic; however, we've also seen how many businesses, small and large, have gone above and beyond to lend a helping hand.

As a part of our initiative, we hope to link large and medium-sized businesses to act as sponsors for local small businesses. The  product of this partnership will produce meals and resources that help those on the frontlines.

If you are interested in being a sponsor and/or would like to know more information about how your business can help, please fill out this survey

PPE Donations & 3D Printing Initiative

With the help of generous donations to the Supporting Augusta GoFundMe, our students are purchasing PPE and donating it to Augusta University Health. At least 500 N95 masks, over 3000 gloves, and 310 face shileds have been donated to AU health care workers.

Our students are also volunteering with the AU Innovation Center to help print face shields and masks. Click here to see more about this initiative.

Lastly, our students across the state have started a Handmade masks initiative and have already delivered hundreds to hospitals and nursing homes in need across Georgia. If interested in joining this effort contact

Medical Education
Part of the MCG response to moving to an online classroom includes a Pandemic Medicine elective. Some of our students are leading this education initiative and designing curriculum and knowledge banks for the MCG community. One of the most important aspects of this initiative is for students to learn how to stay current with rapidly changing medical knowledge.

If interested in getting involved, contact Haritha Aribindi.

Medical Education Goals:
  • Lecture Organization: Members have created and presented lectures for the MCG Pandemic Elective. Students also assist faculty with online lecture platforms and creative delivery ideas for the curriculum.
  • Daily COVID-19 updates and Knowledge Bank: Students are responsible for keeping track of new literature regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and forming a Knowledge Bank of these updates to be used in the MCG Pandemic Elective.
